About Me

Hey there! My name is Nicholas Rui, and I am a first-year physics graduate student at the California Institute of Technology. I did my undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, where I studied physics and astrophysics.

See below for cooler people:

  • Rahul Sahay, a rapidly rising researcher in non-equilibrium statistical mechanics and inexplicable rabbit enthusiast. Projected to reach singularity within the next decade.
  • Eden McEwen, a busy-bee jack-of-all-trades with an eye for photography and adaptive optics in astronomical instrumentation. Her skills make her the last person on Earth whose job will be taken over by robots.
  • Shishir and Shashank Dholakia, the only observed binary astrophysicist discovered to date. LISA, projected to launch in 2034, should be able to observe gravitational waves from this binary system, which is unlikely to merge within a Hubble time.
  • Yourong “Frank” Wang, a versatile physics artiste who dabbles in photography, poetry, and (occasionally) physics. Will work on anything mathematically interesting, but preferably also actually interesting.
